Petition for Abolishing the Death Penalty

Death-penalty-mapImage via WikipediaI want to make you aware of a new petition I created on We the People, a brand new feature on WhiteHouse.gov,

I ask for your support. Will you add your name to mine? If this petition gets 5,000 signatures by October 22, 2011,
the White House will review it and respond! We the People allows anyone to create and sign petitions asking the Obama Administration to take action on a range of issues. If a petition gets enough support, the Obama Administration will issue an official response. You can view and sign the petition here: http://wh.gov/gDe

Here's some more information about this petition:
Abolish the Death Penalty. The death penalty is a particularly cruel and unusual punishment and should be abolished. It is the premeditated killing of a human being by the state in the name of justice. It can be reasonably argued that the death penalty is in violation of the 5th, 8th and 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

See ProCon.org to help decide on the Death Penalty.
